"Like New" Monthly Book Sales

Great deals on books in pristine condition

Nov 13 & Dec 11 | 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. | Main Library

Founded in 1969, the Friends of the Public Library is a nonprofit, 501(c)3 organization that supports the Public Library Albuquerque and Bernalillo County.

Through the sale of donated books, DVDs and CDs, some 55 volunteers and one part-time coordinator raise over $200,000 annually to support:

  • Annual citywide Summer Reading Program
  • AMP Concert Series at the branch libraries
  • Non-partisan advocacy for library bonds
  • Speaker Series at Special Collections Library
  • Staff development & training
  • El Día de los Niños & other community outreach programs
  • Adopt-a-Branch stipend for branch libraries
  • Other needs, such as the purchase of a Book Van

In addition to the satisfaction of supporting the library and promoting literacy, members receive a 10% discount at the Friends Bookshop in the Main Library.

Monthly Book Sale - Featuring "Like New" Books

Throughout the year, books in pristine condition are set aside for these two "like new" sales at the end of the year, including holiday-themed books for both children and adults, and a large selection of "gift" books. Available at 80% off cover prices, these books could be on the shelves of a new book store. Perfect for your holiday shopping needs.
