The Path of a Donation
Have you ever wondered what happens to all of the donations we generously receive? Follow along with this book as it completes the full path of a donation and find out!
We've just received this donation! Our volunteers will look it over to ensure that it is good quality, with no rips, tears, missing pages, or excessive underlining, highlighting or writing inside. It is important to us to know that everything we put into one of our sales or in our Bookshop is something we would be willing to spend money on ourselves. This book passes the test!
Once it's passed quality control, our book moves on to the pricing volunteers. They give it one more lookover, then price it and shelve it in our holding area waiting for our next sale and its time to shine. Our book will spend three sales with us at full price.
Our book has now been with us for three months without selling. But don't worry...it's not going anywhere. It will spend one more sale in its appropriate section for just 25 cents. And if it's still with us after that? It will spend a month in our bargain corner. You never know what you may find there! Treasures (just like our book here) await you for lower than low prices on our bargain tables and carts.
It's now been five months and our book hasn't sold. But don't worry...our friend will still be finding it's way to a reader! We partner with numerous organizations to ensure that anything not sold in one of our monthly sales still makes it into a reader's hands. All of our bargain books are donated to one of our partners at the end of the sale. This system ensures that you will always have fresh, new selections to choose from without having to sort through items you've seen over and over again.

Some of partners include: Animal Welfare Department, Department of Corrections, Hopeworks, nursing homes, schools, UNM Language Learning Center, Readwest, Meals on Wheels, UNM Open Educational Resources and more.
